Congratulations to the 2009 Master Conservationist Award Winners!
Six Master Conservationists will be honored at the Nebraska Association of Resources Districts (NARD) annual meeting and awards banquet at the Holiday Inn in Kearney, Monday, September 28th.



The Omaha World-Herald and the University of Nebraska have sponsored the Master Conservationist Awards each year since 1983 to recognize conservationist from across Nebraska for their dedication to soil and water conservation and wise use of natural resources in their farming, ranching, gardening, and landscaping efforts.

  • The Midwest Spelling Bee
    Each spring nearly 100 of the top spellers from Nebraska and western Iowa earn the right to compete in the Omaha World-Herald Midwest Spelling Bee by winning their county or district bees.

  • World-Herald Holiday Band Concert
    Presented as a gift to World-Herald readers, the performance by the nationally-acclaimed United States Air Force Heartland of America Band has become a holiday tradition.
