The Omaha World-Herald continues a 24-year tradition celebrating America’s birthday with baseball and fireworks Friday, July 4th, at Omaha’s Rosenblatt Stadium. In cooperation with the City of Omaha and the Omaha Royals, World-Herald Fireworks Night features “Fireworks by Grucci,” America’s master fireworks company.

Each spring nearly 100 of the top spellers from Nebraska and western Iowa earn the right to compete in the Omaha World-Herald Midwest Spelling Bee by winning their county or district bees.
Presented as a gift to World-Herald readers, the performance by the nationally-acclaimed United States Air Force Heartland of America Band has become a holiday tradition.
